Kit Talent is committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion across all areas of its work.
We aim to provide a welcoming, respectful and inclusive environment for all children, young people, young adults, parents, guardians, clients, applicants and any third parties engaging with Kit Talent. We are committed to fair treatment and to ensuring that no one is treated unlawfully or unfairly because of a protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010. The Act protects people from discrimination on grounds including age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.
As a youth-focused talent agency working with children, young people and young adults, Kit Talent recognises the importance of creating an environment in which individuals feel respected, supported and able to participate fully.
The purpose of this policy is to:
This policy applies to all aspects of Kit Talent’s work, including:
Kit Talent is committed to:
Kit Talent will not unlawfully discriminate on the basis of a protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010. These protected characteristics are:
This commitment applies to the way Kit Talent communicates, provides services, considers applications, and manages professional relationships.
Kit Talent is a specialist youth talent agency with a carefully considered roster. Decisions about offering representation are made on the basis of a range of legitimate professional factors, which may include:
Because talent representation is selective by nature, not every applicant will be offered representation. However, Kit Talent is committed to ensuring that representation decisions are made fairly, professionally, and without unlawful discrimination.
For the avoidance of doubt, this means that Kit Talent may exercise professional judgment when deciding whether or not to offer representation, but will not refuse representation on the basis of unlawful discrimination against a protected characteristic.
Kit Talent is committed to inclusive practice and will consider reasonable adjustments where possible for disabled children, young people, young adults, parents or guardians engaging with our services.
Reasonable adjustments may include, where appropriate:
UK legislation and guidance explain that reasonable adjustments can include changes to policies, procedures and ways of delivering services so that disabled people are not placed at a substantial disadvantage.
Kit Talent will consider requests for adjustments on a case-by-case basis, taking account of the individual’s needs, the nature of the service, and what is reasonable and practicable in the circumstances.
Everyone engaging with Kit Talent is expected to behave in a respectful, considerate and appropriate manner.
Discriminatory, abusive, harassing, bullying or intimidating behaviour will not be tolerated. This applies to behaviour by or towards:
Where inappropriate behaviour occurs, Kit Talent may take appropriate action, including ending a session, limiting communication, declining an application, terminating services, or referring the matter to the relevant policy or procedure.
As a business working primarily with children and young people, Kit Talent recognises that inclusion is especially important. We aim to ensure that children and young people engaging with our services are treated with care, encouragement and respect, and are not excluded or disadvantaged because of personal characteristics, additional needs or background.
We also recognise that children and young people may require support from a parent or guardian in order to engage fully and confidently with agency or tuition services.
Kit Talent will aim to communicate clearly and respectfully with children’s parents or guardians, young adults, applicants and clients.
Where an individual has a particular communication need, Kit Talent will seek to respond appropriately where reasonably possible. This may include adapting the way information is shared, adjusting the structure of sessions, or taking account of accessibility needs in the planning of services.
Any concerns relating to discrimination, exclusion, bullying, harassment, victimisation or unfair treatment in connection with Kit Talent should be raised as soon as possible.

Where relevant, concerns may also be dealt with under Kit Talent’s Complaints Policy, once in place.

This policy will be reviewed regularly and updated as needed to reflect changes in law, guidance or practice.
